The Dorset Seafood Festival Sparkles with Pommery

The Dorset Seafood Festival is thrilled to announce the return of the iconic Champagne Pommery brand as a sponsor for this year’s Festival.

Champagne Pommery is a global player when it comes to fine wines and is now making waves this side of the channel in the world of English sparkling wine, launching Louis Pommery England in 2018. Pommery will bring this award-winning English sparkling wine to the Festival creating the Louis Pommery England Wine Garden – the perfect pairing for fresh Dorset seafood.  Louis Pommery England has also just launched its first rosé which will be available for tasting at the Festival and is already causing a stir with wine aficionados.

Louis Pommery England is made at the Pinglestone Estate in New Alresford and is leading the way in the viticultural revolution. Pinglestone Estate employs eco-friendly practices that align perfectly with the ethos of the Dorset Seafood Festival. The estate’s dedication to maintaining biodiversity, reducing carbon footprint, and enhancing soil health ensures that every bottle of Louis Pommery England is not only of the highest quality, but also produced with respect for the environment.

Pinglestone Estate’s head winemaker, Will Perkins, will take the stage on both days of the Festival, offering a taste of the fine wines, accompanied by long standing wine icon, Susy Atkins. Susy writes a wine and drinks column in the Sunday Telegraph and is Drinks Editor for Delicious Magazine.

You can find Louis Pommery England at the new and improved Louis Pommery England Wine Garden. The wine garden this year features a stunning tipi tent from Coastal Tents as well as beautiful plants, shrubbery and flowers from Goulds Garden Centre – the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass (or bottle!).

Adding to the Wine Garden’s allure, festival sponsor Weyfish will also present both an oyster bar and a lobster bar in the Garden, perfectly complementing the wine.

Sara Hicks, Director for Vranken Pommery UK, says: “We are absolutely delighted to return to the Dorset Seafood Festival. Louis Pommery England is a celebration of our commitment to quality and tradition but also the new world of English winemaking, and we can’t think of a better setting to showcase our sparkling wine than alongside the finest seafood in this beautiful coastal location.”

Carla Danesh of Coastal Tents shared her excitement about their debut: “We are thrilled to be part of the Dorset Seafood Festival for the first time. Our tipi tents are designed to create unique and memorable spaces, and we can’t wait to see the Wine Garden come to life with Louis Pommery England sparkling wine and the beautiful floral arrangements by Goulds Garden Centre.”

Tom Honnor, Garden Centre Manager at Goulds Garden Centre commented on their involvement: “We are excited to be part of the Dorset Seafood Festival once again, creating a beautiful, vibrant atmosphere in the Wine Garden. Our team is passionate about plants and design, and we are proud to contribute to an environment where people can enjoy both exceptional wine and stunning greenery.”

Sean Cooper, owner of Weyfish, commented on their participation: “We’re excited to bring our oyster and lobster bars to the Louis Pommery England Wine Garden. There’s nothing quite like enjoying fresh seafood with a glass of sparkling wine, and we’re proud to be part of such a fantastic culinary experience.”
