Dorset Seafood Festival Reveals Plans For Standout 2026 Event.
The Dorset Seafood Festival will take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2026, bringing the event back to Weymouth Harbour with FREE entry for all. One of the UK’s best-known and largest seafood festivals, the event will feature a new layout centred around the Pavilion, harbour side and esplanade, designed to improve flow, give visitors more space to explore, and create a more connected festival experience in its iconic coastal setting.
Dorset Council has recognised the Dorset Seafood Festival as one of the county’s most important and well-loved events and has played a key role in helping bring it back to the waterfront. Now organisers are working on a refreshed layout, to include the space in front of the Pavilion, the harbour side alongside the Pavilion, extending up to where the harbourside restaurants begin, and sections of Weymouth Esplanade. Due to space constraints, stands will not be positioned directly in front of the restaurants, and the festival will not extend over the Town Bridge or onto the opposite side of the harbour. This more focused footprint has been carefully designed to improve visitor movement and help avoid the pinch points experienced in previous years.
Sophie Kermani, Festival Director, said: “We’ve designed a layout that makes the most of Weymouth’s beautiful harbour while creating a much better experience for visitors, traders and chefs. The festival will run from the Pavilion and along the harbour to the start of the restaurants, as well as onto the esplanade, giving people more space to explore and enjoy everything at their own pace.
By keeping the event within this area and not crossing the bridge, we’re able to create a more connected festival, improve the flow, and make it easier for everyone to enjoy the food, music and atmosphere. We’re really looking forward to welcoming people back to the harbour in July.”
