Sparkling Dorset

English Sparkling Wine is seafood's perfect match

At SEAFEAST - The Dorset Seafood Festival - you have a great variety of seafood to choose from, and for 2022 you'll have the choice of some excellent accompaniments in the form of stunning English sparkling wines from Dorset producers Bride Valley Wines, Furleigh Estate and Langham Wines.

Wines available from the Sparking Dorset bar will be:

Bride Valley - Dorset Cremant

The Dorset Crémant remains England's only home-produced Crémant. With a less aggressive fizz than traditional sparkling wine it slides across the palate with a gentle creaminess, hence the name.  Perfect with seafood, it boasts a delicious palate of ripe, apple and sherbet lemon fruit with a sumptuous creamy texture and fresh, citrus acidity. This is a 'wine that sparkles' rather than a sparkling wine.

Furleigh Estate - Classic Cuvee

A classic dry sparkling wine with a refined elegance. The colour is pale lemon straw with a steady stream of minute bubbles. Perfect for celebrations, served well-chilled as an aperitif alongside canapés such as smoked salmon blinis, angels-on-horseback, or with a seafood platter including oysters. Also good with white fish, such as sea bass, sea bream or creamy seafood gratin. Try it with local fish and chips!

Langham - Blanc de Blancs

Part of Langham’s premium range, this wine is 100% Chardonnay all from the exceptional vintage of 2018.  A rich palate with apple, pear blossom, white grapefruit and toasted almond – perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or with fresh seafood.

Langham - Corallian Classic Cuvee

A Chardonnay dominant cuvée which is citrus led, with mineral & saline notes, suited to all occasions; particularly in the spring & summer months.  The Corallian drinks equally well on its own or particularly with fish dishes.

As well as the bar, Susy Atkins, award winning wine expert for publications such as The Telegraph and Delicious Magazine, will run a wine tasting session for the stage on each day.  An ambassador from each winery will be invited to join Susy on stage and the audience can become wine connoisseurs and taste the three Dorset Wines. Which was your favourite? Can you taste notes of lemon posset or brioche in the wines?

Book your tickets now - you can pre-order your 'Dorset Sparkling' wines at the same time!
