SATURDAY 13h July PROGRAMME

Nigel Bloxham. 
Kick-starting the Main Stage line-up is festival regular, Nigel Bloxham — Chef Proprietor of Weymouth-based eatery Billy Winters and the award-winning Crab House Cafe restaurant. Dive in and discover more about seafood, especially the delicious and versatile crab, as Nigel shares his knowledge and passion with the audience.

Pete Murt. 
Pete worked at two Michelin-starred Hibiscus Restaurants as chef de partie before becoming the Head Chef at Rick Stein, Sandbanks, in December 2015. Here he loves working within a large team and is enthusiastic about exploring the local area and its incredible produce, to introduce seasonal gems to the menu.

Nick Evans. 
What Nick Evans doesn’t know about fish, isn’t worth knowing! As Head Chef Lecturer at Rick Stein’s Cookery School, Nick’s seafood knowledge is second to none and the Festival is delighted to welcome him to the Stage.

Mitch Tonks and Mark Hix. 
What a double delight we have for you here! Named MSC Chef of the Year 2018, acclaimed restaurateur, chef and author, Mitch Tonks is arguably one of the most erudite, passionate and credible voices out there, when it comes to seafood. And celebrated Dorset-born chef, restaurateur and food writer, Mark Hix has an unrivalled knowledge of ingredients with provenance. Together, they will have the Festival audience hooked with their seafood passion and expertise.

Russell Brown. 
Russell’s time as a chef culminated with a Michelin star at his Dorset restaurant, Sienna. Involved in the food industry across the West Country for over 20 years, Russell’s insights and expertise are now currently powered into Creative about Cuisine, a business that focuses on food writing, food photography and consultancy.

 
SUNDAY 14th July PROGRAMME

Festival regular, Nigel Bloxham returns to the Stage for day two of the Festival. As Chef Proprietor of Weymouth-based eatery Billy Winters and the award-winning Crab House Cafe restaurant, Nigel’s knowledge and passion for seafood will entertain and inspire.

John Wright. 
John is a Dorset-based naturalist and author, who has worked closely with River Cottage for many years. In addition to writing, John Wright leads wild-food forays; in wood and field for mushrooms and the coast for seaweeds, maritime plants and shellfish. Join him to discover more about the rich pickings to be had from the shore.

Duncan Lucas. 
Duncan is passionate about fish and has worked in the industry for over 40 years—his career starting early in the family business of trout farming. He is seriously knowledgeable and accomplished in the art of fishmongery and holds many awards. Don’t miss his expert fish-filleting demo.

Chris Staines. 
Chris is a highly acclaimed chef. After working as Head Chef at Michelin-starred restaurants: Foliage at the Mandarin Oriental, and The Oak Room, Chris now owns and runs The Ollerod, in Beaminster. His ethos is to use the freshest possible ingredients; this, plus a love of Asian cuisines, means his menus provide variety, punch, and a real clarity of flavour.

CJ Jackson and Mike Warner. 
Drop in on this dream team as they talk everything seafood. CJ Jackson is a chef and cookery writer, the Chief Executive of Billingsgate Seafood School, and regular contributor to shows such as Sunday Brunch. Mike Warner writes on all aspects of the commercial UK fishing industry. His blog ‘A Passion for Seafood’ has twice been shortlisted for the Guild of Food Writers, Best Food Blog.

Kim Somauroo

As well as working as a private chef, Kim is involved in some of the UK’s leading food festivals. His roles vary from setting up the chef demo stages, being a home economist to celebrity chefs, helping to organise charity supper clubs with guest chefs, and also compering. Kim is looking forward to his third Dorset Seafood Festival, before heading off to the Greek island of Spetses for his annual cooking job in the sun.
