SEAFEAST is delighted to announce a new silver sponsor for the Festival, Miraval. Miraval wine is produced in Provence by Famille Perrin and in association with Hollywood icon, Brad Pitt. The Perrin family is the leading organic wine grower of the Southern Rhône Valley where they occupy the region’s best terroirs. Nature and tradition are key to the Perrin family way and this approach has continued seamlessly over five generations. SEAFEAST, run by a local Weymouth family instantly connected with this family ethos and values. Not to mention the pairing of glorious seafood and rosé wine is a match made in heaven.
The festival is now in its 15th year and takes place over 10th & 11th September 2022 at the Weymouth Peninsula. With a focus on incredible fish, food and sustainability, the Seafood Festival also helps to raise money for the Fishermen’s Mission charity and educate attendees on sustainable fishing, seafood and the coast.
Brian Cooper, Festival Director commented: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Miraval to the festival. There is real synchronicity between the sustainable and organic approach that Miraval takes with its wine-making and the focus the Festival has on educating the public on restoring the ocean to health and a sustainable approach to seafood. We are very excited to work with Miraval on plans for the Festival and to share a packed agenda of demos and talks with the Blue Marine Foundation. Sustainable wine and seafood is the perfect partnership and we look forward to the wine tastings on stage where the audience can try Miraval wines and hear about the brand from the experts.”
As well as a deep focus on organic viticulture, The Perrin Family has a worldwide reputation for excellence. Concentrating on the soil, maintaining manual methods and the belief that the only way to express the essence of the terroir is through their organic approach.
Andrew Bayley, of Famille Perrin UK commented: “We’re very excited to announce our partnership with SEAFEAST. Miraval is such a versatile wine match and the opportunity to showcase our wine alongside top quality seafood perfectly aligns with our values and aim of SEAFEAST.”
