The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival wins yet another award for ‘Tourism Event of the Year’ at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2015-16. Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival took Silver in this year’s awards, announced on the 4th February in the stunning location of the Nave of Exeter Cathedral. Ninety-five different awards were presented following a rigorous judging process in which a record four-hundred and ninety entries were considered.
Sara Hicks, Director of Vranken Pommery UK, said: “We were blown away in October winning both Gold and Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Awards – and we are so happy to have won again with Silver in the South West Awards. It makes all the hard work worthwhile and huge thanks go to everyone involved. We will endeavour to keep delivering a great event for Dorset.”
This year’s awards event was hosted by ITV news presenters Kylie Pentelow and Ian Axton, with an inspiring opening address delivered by travel journalist and Chair of Family Holiday Association, Alison Rice. Winners were spread across the whole region; from the Isles of Scilly and Cornwall in the west to Bournemouth, Dorset and Salisbury in the east, and from Salcombe in the south to Bristol, Bath and Gloucester in the north.
The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival brings together champagne and seafood, family entertainment and a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the superb seafood available to us just off our wonderful shores. With the emphasis on responsibly sourced seafood, the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival helps raise money for the Fishermen’s Mission charity.
