Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival wins 'Gold' and 'Outstanding Contribution to Dorset Tourism' Awards

Organisers of the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival were thrilled to receive two major awards at the Dorset Tourism Awards 2015. Gold for ‘Tourism Event of the Year’ and the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Dorset Tourism’.

Announced on the 15th October at the Tank Museum, the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival team were part of a 215 strong audience, with 51 trophies presented to different tourism businesses from across Dorset. The competition for the Tourism Event of the Year category was strong with finalists including: Tankfest, Poole Harbour Boat Show, and Sherborne Abbey Festival. Now in its third year, the Awards act as a celebration of the best in Dorset tourism and also as a county heat for the South West and national Visit England awards.

Chairman of Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival, Roger Dalton, said: “Having won Gold in the Dorset Tourism Awards in 2013, we have worked hard to maintain our success as well as continue to improve certain elements of our much-loved festival. With international coverage via media such as CNN, we certainly offer a destination event for anyone who loves champagne and seafood, located in an incredibly atmospheric setting such as Weymouth Harbour.”

With the emphasis on responsibly-sourced seafood, the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival helps raise money for the Fishermen’s Mission charity.
