This year for the first time The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival launched an award for the most sustainable and locally sourced menus amongst the numerous seafood stands. The purpose of the awards is to highlight amongst our food stalls the need to use sustainable and locally sourced produce whenever possible. There were Gold, Silver, Bronze and four Highly Commended awards and choosing the winners was a difficult task.
The judging was done completely independent of the festival organisers and in 2014 this was done by Matt Budden, Executive Chef at the Highcliff Grill who awarded: Gold to the Crab House Café – Silver to Dorshi – Bronze to Jurassic Fish Burgers and Highly Commended to Shell Bay Restaurant, Dorset Shellfish, Bull Hotel and the Monkey's Fist. Congratulations to all winners.
