2011 Festival Highlights

Come along to Waterfront Weymouth on the 9th & 10th July 2011 to enjoy the 4th annual Dorset Seafood Festival.

Events on this famous old harbourside include: cooking demonstrations by top chefs Lesley Waters, Ed Baines, Shaun Rankin, Mat Follas, Alex Aitken, Giles Thompson, Silla Bjerrum, Richard Bertinet, John Wright, Duncan Lucas and many local chefs.

The Dorset Young Seafood MasterChef of the Year Competition judged by restaurateur Mark Hix; Fishtucker Trials; filleting demonstrations; champagne and wine matching demonstrations; fresh fish auctions, and book signings by the famous chef authors. Also appearing is John Wright, River Cottage’s foraging expert! With more than 70 stalls selling both seafood and a range of associated goods there is something here for everyone. And don’t miss the Cross Harbour Oyster Challenge at 10.30 on Saturday. This is the opening event for the festival when up to 30 swimmers brave the cold water in Weymouth Harbour race across it, down an oyster and a glass of Champagne!

The Saturday will close with the ‘Moving Tides’ community procession.
